We’ve all seen it, the person that does something do good with the intent of getting recognition from it. but, this isn’t true “doing good;” the action may be doing the most good, but the intention is wrong.
it’s one of those hard-to-swallow lessons to learn, but it’s important. doing good should come from self-serving intentions and actions – not for the admiration and praise of others.
when performing an act of selflessness, it should be done because you want to help – not because you expect something in exchange. doing something out of attention and not with intention almost becomes an exercise of futility.
it’s important to make sure your intentions are pure when doing good. otherwise, it’s impossible to accurately gauge how much you have actually helped.

the most important good deed one can do is to be someone you cannot be noticed. tell a homeless person “have a nice day”, donate to a charity or even help someone who is down in their life without expecting any kind of recognition at all.
selfless acts of kindness should be done for the sake of others, rather than for any form of recognition. people may not always know what you are doing, but that shouldn’t have an effect on your decision to do good
